Welcome to the North York Moors Ridge Soaring Club. We are pleased to be once again holding our F3F ‘open’ competition in 2018. As in previous years, the competition is being held in conjunction with the Eurotour and World Cup series of F3F races.

How to enter :-

Entry list will open midday on the 12th Feb 2018. Entry closes when 50 competitors have been received or by the 31st May, whichever happens soonest. Only 35mHz or 2.4gHz frequencies allowed.
Send an e-mail with your name, frequency ( in the case of 35mHz, 2 frequencies ), and Team name if appropriate, to mark.treble@marktreble.com. If your name does not appear on the flying list within 1 week please resend your e-mail.

NB to take part in any Eurotour / World Cup Competition, Pilots need an FAI Licence. For UK pilots, this can be obtained from the BMFA, regardless of whether you are a member of the BMFA or not

FAI LICENCES WILL BE CHECKED - NO LICENCE - NO SCORE!

Also, FAI requirements for Model Identification. CIAM General Rules Para C.11.1

1. The Pilots FAI Number in 25mm high letters to appear once on the model
2. Each part of the model to have an ID number at least 10mm high

This requirement, despite being clearly required in CIAM rules, is being ignored!

Teams :-

There will be a trophy for the top three man team. You do not have to fly as a team, but if you want to, include your team details when you enter or before the closing date of the 23th June. Teams will NOT be accepted after this date.

Entry fee :-

The entry will be 30 pounds sterling. Payment by PayPal only.

The Event :-

• The Competition will be held over 3 days. Friday, Saturday and Sunday
• Friday, meet at 9:00 in the Main Carpark for Registration, in time for an early start.
• Saturday and Sunday meet at 8:30, in time for a 9:30 start.
• Last round in progress will be that running at 17:30, except Sunday when it will be 15:00
• The event will be run to current FAI rules., except as below
• Reflights, will be flown as soon as possible, crow-throughs will NOT be allowed.
• Bases and Safety lines will be set as appropriate for the conditions.
• The CD will appoint a 'committee' to resolved any issues
• Three models per competitor are allowable.
• Rotation of the flying order is a possibility

• The Hole of Horcum is an area of outstanding natural beauty, and Model Flying is exclusively licenced to the North York Moors Ridge Soaring Club. If you wish to fly in the week before or after the Competition, you MUST register with Jon Edison before doing so
• Do not park on the road or any of the verges.
• Park only in the designated areas

Saturday Night :-

Pickering has a good selection of Restaurants, Pubs and Take-away's. No formal meal is being arranged.

Accommodation :-

Being a popular tourist area, there is plenty of accommodation in Pickering and the surrounding area, but you will need to book to be sure of securing a bed!
