Welcome to the North York Moors Ridge Soaring Club. We are pleased to be once again holding our F3F ‘open’ competition in 2011. As in previous years, the competition is being held in conjunction with the Eurotour series of F3F races.

How to enter

Entry list will open on the 1st April 2011. Entry closes when 50 competitors have been received or by the end June, whichever happens soonest. Only 35mHz or 2.4gHz frequencies allowed.
Send an e-mail with your name, frequency ( in the case of 35mHz, 2 frequencies ), and Team name if appropriate, to jon_edison@hotmail.com. If your name does not appear on the flying list within 1 week please resend your e-mail.

NB to take part in any Eurotour Competition, Pilots need an FAI Licence. For UK pilots, this can be obtained from the BMFA, regardless of whether you are a member of the BMFA or not

Teams

There will be a trophy for the top three man team. You do not have to fly as a team, but if you want to, either include your team details when you enter or enter them on the day

Entry fee.

The entry will be 20 pounds sterling ( 25 euro ). Payment will be collected on the day.

The Event

• The event will be run to current FAI rules.
• Reflights, will be flown as soon as possible, crow throughs will NOT be allowed.
• Bases and Safety lines will be set as appropriate for the conditions.
• The CD will appoint a 'committee' to resolved any issues
• Three models per competitor are allowable.
• Rotation of the flying order is a possibility
• There will be 30 seconds ready time.
• The last round in progress will be that running at 17:30 each day.
• If the conditions are light and round times are excessive, group scoring may be considered

Additional information

• Meet at the Main Car Park on the A169 Pickering to Whitby Road
• Saturday meet at 9:00 for registration, in time for a 10:30 start.
• Sunday meet at 8:30, in time for a 9:30 start.
• The Hole of Horcum is an area of outstanding natural beauty, and Model Flying is exclusively licenced to the North York Moors Ridge Soaring Club. If you wish to fly in the week before or after the Competition, you MUST register with Jon Edison before doing so
• Do not park on the road or any of the verges.
• Park only in the designated areas

Saturday Night

Pickering has a good selection of Restaraunts, Pubs and Take-aways. No formal meal is being arranged.

Accomodation

Being a popular tourist area, there is plenty of accomodation in Pickering and the surrounding area, but you will need to book to be sure of securing a bed!
