Raffle Prizes supplied by T9Hobbysports Well the weather Gods finally took pity on us, and whilst they got the wind direction slightly off at a more or less constant SE all weekend, we did have blue sky and dry conditions throughout. A good crowd of 29 pilots started the weekend, with nearly half made up of NYMRSC Members, which shows the current level of interest for F3F in the Club |

Peter Gunning was first man up, being a previous Nationals winner, made for a fitting start to the weekends proceedings. A 79.37 didn't set any hearts racing, but wasn't the slowest for that round by any means and Peter ended Day 1 in 8th before clawing back a few places to finally end the weekend in 5th Paul Townsend was the first Clubman away, and promptly clipped 10secs of Peters time with a 67.23. A steady but difficult weekend for Paul saw him unfortunately slip down the rankings from 10th to 20th by the end. Paul Middleton, hoping to do well, cut turn B, and in a desperate attempt to get his Vikos back on line, spun it into the slope, resulting in a zero score . Not a good start! but fortunately not too much damage, and ended the day a very creditable 2nd, before losing out on the second day to finish 4th overall |

Ronnie Lampe can usually do the business, but Day 1 wasn't his best, finishing 18th, before pulling up to 13th by end of play on Day 2. Richard Bago, current Horcum Record Holder had a lot to live up to, but the conditions just really didn't suit him, and he stayed a very commendable 9th place for both days. Frank Hulton clawed his way up the rankings from 21st to 14th by Sunday, and just missed out on a sub40 with a 40.92 in R9 Mark Redsell ever brilliant in these changeable conditions didn't disappoint, and led the Competition from start to finish and bagged the fastest time to boot |

Now here's a man who had a cracking 2 days, Alan Scupham had one of those yeehaa moments on Day 2 when his STREGA went ballastic. Alan did well to hang on to it, and managed a magnificent 41.10 in R7 for a new PB and an excellent 21st overall. Jason Burns look like a man who had got the hang of things with his STREGA on Day 2, but a poor start kept him from moving it up the rankings, with a final 24th up slightly from the day before. Dave Wright struggled on Day 1, and decided that was enough for the weekend, giving Day 2 a miss. |

Tim Shaw was very consistent over the weekend, popping in a few sub 50's with his ACACIA 3 on Day 2 to try and rescue a downhill slide, but despite his efforts, moved from 17th to a final 19th place. Keith Woods and his Freestyler had a steady weekend by his standards moving up from 13th on Day 1 with a series of sub50's to manage an excellent top ten finish by the end of Sunday. Egon Lewin who is fairly new to F3F, flew a venerable old ACACIA 2 very consistently all weekend, before disaster struck in R10, when a bad landing put him out of the comp |

Last but not least was Jon Edison, flying his new EXTREME for the first time in competition, suffered the slowest time of the comp on Day 1 with a pedestrian 101.65 before a decision to move slopes was made. Jon made up for things on Day 2 with a new PB of 37. 75 but failed to improve on his 16th position Other notable flyers were Simon Thornton who was flew consistently well all weekend, moving from 3rd on Day 1 to a very well deserved 2nd place finish. Joel West the other top three finisher coming back from a very lowly 11th on Day 1 with some inspired flying in later rounds to finish 3rd overall |
